Latest Updates from Our Project:

New Estimated Delivery Dates and More!
about 11 years ago – Fri, Apr 10, 2015 at 12:23:09 PM

Hey Backers!

What a month! We’ve got lots of news for you today...

In our last update we mentioned that we had a decision to make between circuit designs and magnets. Well since then we've made those decisions! The changes to the circuit that we are using are major and benefit the printer in multiple ways. We’ll get into the details in a future update, but what that means for now is that hardware development for the Peachy Printer Kit is pretty much finished! That being said, our new estimated delivery dates are July - October 2015. Now how about all the other stuff?

Status of Other Reward Tiers and Add Ons

Peachy Printer Assembled

All of the updates and information pertaining to the Peachy Kit are relevant to the Peachy Assembled. That being said, product development for the Assembled is also nearly finished with the exception of the reservoir and mounting system which is still in development. We estimate this product to be delivered in September - October 2015.

Peachy Printer Pro

Development on the Pro circuit and galvonometers is underway and we are currently working on some exciting updates to show you what we’ve been up to. You can look forward to seeing an update in within the next few days.

Mount & Reservoir Add On

We have developed a design and are in the process of ordering sample materials from suppliers. Once we receive the sample materials we will build a prototype and begin testing. Although we are in the early stages of development, this is a very simple product so we expect development to move quickly. We estimate this product to be delivered in September - October 2015.

Scanner Attachment

Until about a month ago, the scanner had not seen any development since the beginning of the campaign. That being said, obtaining good control of the laser beam in the printer is a very important step towards using the Peachy Printer as a 3D Scanner. That means that much of the development on the Kit is relevant to it’s functionality as a Scanner. Recently Rylan began working on the software again, which will require a lot more work before it is ready. We expect to allocate more time towards the development of this product and others as we turn our focus away from the Peachy Printer Kit. Keep your eyes open for updates on the development of the Scanner Attachment in the future.

Peachy Juice Stiff

This product has no additional delay. All Peachy Juice Stiff orders will be shipped with your Peachy Printer.

Peachy Juice Flex & Wiggle

These products have not yet been adequately tested with the Peachy Printer, and therefore we cannot in good conscience deliver them at this point in time. That being said, these are products that we want to be able to offer with confidence and we have full intentions of testing, developing, and delivering these products. We ask for your patience as we work to ensure that you will be satisfied with these products when we deliver them.

Information About Shipping

We do not want the development of these other products to delay the delivery of the kits, so we will be shipping them separately (with exception to Peachy Juice Stiff). If you ordered any of these add ons, you will receive your kit first. The rest of your order will be shipped once development for the product(s) in your order has been completed.

For those of you who are affected by the additional delays associated with these products, we offer our sincerest apology. We know it’s already been a long wait for the kit! There have been many surprises along this journey and there will be more to come, but that is the nature of invention. All we can do is thank you for your patience thus far, and work as smart and hard as we can to deliver these products as soon as possible.

Moving Forwards

We are very focused on product testing at the moment, so that means new prints and lots of them! Here’s an older print, and a sneak peek at one of our new ones:

As we wrap up R&D on the kit, the development team will shift focus to our other products. On the software side, Mr. Townley is currently conducting a much needed UI overhaul. We will also begin ordering parts and preparing our manufacturing/packaging facilities. Finally, we’re working on the update many of you have been waiting for… The one where we show you the Peachy Printer that will arrive at your doorstep.

Until next time,

The Peachy Printer Team.

Software Developments #6
about 11 years ago – Wed, Mar 11, 2015 at 01:53:38 PM

Hey Backers

As we continue to test the latest hardware revision, we’d like to let you know what’s new on the software side of Peachy. Today our software developer James Townley is back with another progress update! Check out the video below to see what he’s been up to:

As mentioned above we are still testing out the new hardware. At this point it is certain that we will not make our current shipping date, and we know many of you are likely wondering when you can expect your printer to be shipped. Once we’ve concluded this round of testing and we feel that we have enough information to make an educated estimate, we will announce the new estimated shipping dates.

As always, the software and a link to the source is available at software.peachyprinter.com

Until next time,

The Peachy Printer Team.

Hey Backers,

We’ve been busy here at Peachy Headquarters and as a result we’ve got lots of cool stuff to show you! Today we’re going to get you up to speed on the hardware side of the project. Check out the video below to hear Rylan and Erik talk about the improvements they’ve made to the design:

Since we filmed this video we have began testing the new hardware. So far it has been going well, although we’re not done running tests yet.

Here are a few images of the current design:
